Mammoth Cave National Park
Mammoth Cave in Kentucky is the longest cave system in the world, with over 400 miles of interconnected passageways that you can explore. Above ground, the park is covered in rich, lush forests full of amazing hiking and biking trails. The park offers guided tours through the cave, giving you an incredible experience where you’ll learn all about the cave’s history and unique ecosystem.
Take a boat ride down an underground river in Lost River Cave. Lost River Cave has been used for thousands of years, starting out as an ancient native hunting ground. During the Civil War, both Union and Confederate troops used this Kentucky cave as a campground. The cave was used as a hideout for Jesse James and was a nightclub during the 1930s.
Hidden River Cave
As the name suggests, Hidden River Cave is one of Kentucky’s hidden gems, it’s also one of Kentucky’s largest and most scenic caves. Two rivers flow through this cave nearly 100 feet underground. Hidden River Cave is home to the famous Sunset Dome and the longest underground swinging bridge in the world.
